‘Disgusted’ Andrew Garfield & Julia Roberts Go Viral As Ayo Edebiri Gets Snubbed

A clip from a new press interview featuring Andrew Garfield, Julia Roberts, and Ayo Edebiri, promoting their new film After the Hunt, has gone viral. In it, Edebiri was excluded from a question that was posed to Garfield and Roberts. Subsequently, the three co-stars reacted to the exclusion, expressing shock and confusion. In addition to being shocked, Edebiri eloquently answered the question that wasn’t posed to her.

Andrew Garfield, Julia Roberts, and Ayo Edebiri recently sat down for a new press interview. In it, a reporter asked what had been lost during the “politically correct era.” They also asked what could be expected from Hollywood following the MeToo and Black Lives Matter movements.

In response, a confused Garfield turned towards Roberts and chuckled. The Pretty Woman actress, also confused, asked the reporter to repeat the question and clarify whom — out of the three of them — they were talking to. The interviewer responded that the question was for her and Garfield.

Edebiri then smiled and darted her eyes around. The Bear star, who seemed offended by the snub, interrupted Roberts before she could answer. She said, “Well, sorry, I know that that’s not for me — and I don’t know if it’s purposeful if it’s about me — but I just am curious.”

Speaking about the two political movements, Edebiri stressed, “I don’t think it’s dying,” just as Roberts said, “it’s not done.”

Ayo Edebiri continued, “I don’t think it’s done at all.” The Bottoms actress said that although MeToo and Black Lives Matter hashtags weren’t used as frequently as they were before, activists were still working on those political movements. “That’s beautiful, important work, that’s not finished,” she added. “That’s really, really active for a reason, cause this world is really charged and that work isn’t finished at all.”

The Emmy winner speculated that there was now a difference in media coverage of the events compared to how it was eight years ago. However, she noted that despite this difference, the work on those movements was still ongoing.

Andrew Garfield weighed in, agreeing with Edebiri’s sentiments that the movements were still “absolutely alive.” The Amazing Spider-Man actor added that the movements weren’t “covered” or “magnified” as much in the present political climate.
