Andrew Garfield‘s girlfriend, Monica Barbaro, gracefully dodged a slight wardrobe malfunction at the Venice International Film Festival. The popular actress arrived at the star-studded red carpet on Friday, August 29, when she experienced a minor mishap.
Here are all the details.
Monica Barbaro saves herself during a windy wardrobe malfunction
Shortly after Monica Barbaro stepped onto the red carpet, a gust of wind blew under the top overlay of her black, Christian Dior gown, giving it a momentary balloon-ish look. The incident was reminiscent of the iconic shot of Marilyn Monroe’s white dress blowing up in the wind.
However, Barbaro remained unfazed and swiftly smoothed it down with a little giggle. The Top Gun: Maverick star continued posing for the cameras, completely unbothered by the brief inconvenience.
Furthermore, the actress had no reason to be alarmed anyway, as the pleated upper section of the gown covered a matching black slip. Hence, even if she had failed to catch it, Barbaro would not have suffered any indecent exposure. The stunning ensemble by Dior became the centerpiece for Barbaro’s minimal look. She kept it simple with the accessories as well, wearing just a pair of sparkling danglers and a ring.
Barbaro attended the Film Festival to support her boyfriend, Andrew Garfield’s latest movie, After the Hunt. She was spotted earlier arriving in Venice with Garfield before arriving at the film’s world premiere. Paparazzi captured several shots of the couple holding hands as they were walking along the Venetian streets.
After The Hunt is slated for a theatrical release on October 10, 2025. It is a psychological thriller directed by Luca Guadagnino, the filmmaker behind the renowned hits Challengers and Call Me By Your Name. After The Hunt stars Garfield, along with Julia Roberts, Ayo Edebiri, Michael Stuhlbarg, Chloë Sevigny, and more.
