Candace Cameron Bure recently posted a photo of a bathing suit on Instagram, but deleted it shortly after. The actress has now addressed the photo’s takedown and explained the same. In her explanation, she shared that netizens had commented on her body, even though the picture wasn’t about it. Bure has openly discussed her struggles with her body in her memoir, Reshaping It All, where she revealed that she had suffered from bulimia as a young adult.
Candace Cameron Bure says backlash on bathing suit snap wasn’t ‘worth it’
The Full House alumna recently ran a Q&A session via her Instagram Stories. During this session, a user asked her if she had posted a bikini photo on Instagram and taken it down later.
Candace Cameron Bure responded, “Yes. I was at the beach.” However, she clarified that she was in a one-piece suit and not a bikini. “I am soaking up the end of summer. I was having fun,” Bure continued. She stressed that her post wasn’t about her bathing suit or her body.
Unfortunately, the Fuller House actress’ comments section got filled with discussions about the latter. “It wasn’t worth it,” she added. “I took it down.” Bure’s response was accompanied by a picture of her standing in an area with considerable greenery, wearing a light yellow button-up dress.

Candace Cameron Bure has always been open about her struggles with her body and weight. Last month, in an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital, while discussing the latest weight loss trends in Hollywood, she admitted that she had “troubling” thoughts about having the “perfect body.” She noted that these thoughts stemmed from her having grown up in the ’80s and ’90s.
Also, that same month, in the July 22 episode of her The Candace Cameron Bure Podcast, the 49-year-old discussed her experiences with bulimia. “I developed an eating disorder when I was 18,” she stated. “It was binging and purging. I’m a bulimic. And I still say I’m a bulimic.”
Furthermore, the Make It or Break It star recalled how her parents took “preventative” measures to ensure she had a healthy body, but to no avail. Bure also confessed candidly that she still struggles with bulimia’s impact on her mental health as well as her body image, even though she no longer engages in bulimic behavior.
