After Wednesday Season 2 Part 2 premiered earlier this week, Lady Gaga dropped The Dead Dance, a song that the veteran pop star wrote for the show. Interscope Records released it as a single on September 3, 2025. However, some fans claim that the elaborate music video was made with the help of AI. Is there any truth to it?
Lady Gaga drops official music video of The Dead Dance after Wednesday, Season 2
Lady Gaga released the music video for Dead Dance on September 3, 2025, to a great critical reception. Helmed by Tim Burton, the music video is unlike any other and has impressed a huge part of Gaga’s fanbase.
But it seems that not everyone felt the same way about the video. Some fans claimed that the video was AI-generated. User @graveyardquy reshared the video on X and wrote, “I didn’t think we’d ever be in a timeline where a Tim Burton x Lady Gaga collab would turn out to be AI slop… but here we are.”
While some fans agreed in the comments, many pointed out that a VFX studio animated the video, not AI.
The video is not AI-generated. The Tim Burton-directed project has the director’s iconic style throughout. Reports also confirmed that filmmakers shot the video on the Island of the Dolls in Mexico, proving that filming took place with no major involvement of AI.
The video, which dropped 18 hours ago, has already accumulated over 4 million views on YouTube. Speaking at Spotify and Netflix’s Wednesday Graveyard Gala in New York City last week, Lady Gaga discussed the song. She said, “I had a wonderful time working on Wednesday season two, even just being a small part of the show.” She added, “I loved working with Tim Burton and Jenna and everyone here, it’s so incredible. Thank you. I’m also here to confirm my song ‘The Dead Dance’ is coming.”
The song is proving to be a huge success, as is the new season of Wednesday.
Wednesday Season 2 Part 2 is now streaming on Netflix.
