My Life with the Walter Boys’ Future After Season 3 Gets Exciting Update

As fans continue to process the explosive ending of My Life with the Walter Boys Season 2, showrunner Melanie Halsall has provided an update on the Netflix series’ future beyond Season 3. In a recent interview, the veteran producer shed some light on her plans for the coming-of-age drama while also answering a crucial plot question.

My Life with the Walter Boys showrunner says she has mapped the show ‘long way down the line’

Much to the delight of fans of My Life with the Walter Boys, program developer Melanie Halsall has confirmed that she does not intend to end the hit series with Season 3. Even though Netflix has yet to announce concrete plans for future installments of the show past the third season, Halsall has noted that she has “mapped this out a long way down the line,” as per Swoon.

“I’m fascinated by these characters and these stories in this world, and I would love to keep telling these stories for as long as people keep watching them, would like to keep watching them,” she remarked. “So you never know. We might be seeing our characters get older and older as we go ahead, but I would love to keep telling these stories,” Halsall said, hinting at a long future for My Life with the Walter Boys.

During the discussion, Halsall also revealed whether or not she intends to resolve the messy love triangle between Jackie and the Walter brothers, Cole and Alex. “Our show is always a love triangle,” she noted before adding, “It’s based on a love triangle. It’s based on romance. And so for the moment, that’s the core of our show. So for the moment, that’s not going to change.”

The final episode of Season 2 saw Alex overhear Jackie confessing her love for Cole, making things between the trio even more complicated. Halsall’s comments suggest that this conflict could last for way longer than My Life with the Walter Boys Season 3, which is on track to premiere sometime in 2026.
