Tom Holland Goes Blond & Grows a Goatee in LEGO TV Ad

Tom Holland headlined a new LEGO TV ad, where he traded in his signature brunette hair for blond locks. He also grew a goatee and donned a variety of styles for the ad, where he played different characters. Notably, the ad also featured appearances from his brothers, Sam and Harry. LEGO is the latest brand to collaborate with the Spider-Man star, who recently became a brand ambassador for Prada.

Tom Holland goes blond for a new ad

Tom Holland recently fronted LEGO’s latest TV ad short, “Never Stop Playing.” In it, he plays multiple characters, several of whom have blond hair.

The Spider-Man actor initially plays a soldier who addresses his fellow soldiers and tells them, “We must stop playing.” Holland’s character then unmasks himself and asks why anyone would stop playing, prompting the director to say “cut.”

The BERO founder next plays a soccer player with bright teeth and curly blond hair. Several people interview him, including two men played by his brothers Sam and Harry. A young kid cuts the interview short and asks Holland if he will stop playing. Holland responds, “Never.”

Following this, Holland portrays a bespectacled man with long curly blond locks, wearing a white smart suit with blue shades. Addressing an audience from the stage, he says those who play make the world “more thrilling” and “fantastic,” as he levitates and slowly flies away.

The Spider-Man actor next plays an old man watering plants in his garden and a young kid who says “wicked” upon seeing LEGO blocks coming to life. He is later shown as an old corporate man who tells an animated LEGO, “Some of us don’t want to play,” before flicking it out of a building.

Finally, Tom Holland is shown playing an artist who has a goatee and has tied his blond hair in a man bun. The artist says, “Play is art,” and proceeds to bring several LEGO constructions to life.

Tom Holland has expressed his love for LEGO in a statement.

“I loved building with LEGO bricks as a child,” the statement read. “My brothers and I would create our own wild worlds, turning the living room into a prehistoric jungle with our LEGO dinosaur set or set up racing tracks for our LEGO cars!”

He continued, “It was fun to relive those memories on set. Becoming an official ‘Playmaker’ is very cool. No matter how busy life gets, I’ve never stopped playing…and I don’t plan to anytime soon!”
