Anne Hathaway has commented on her behind-the-scenes fall from The Devil Wears Prada sequel that went viral.

While filming a scene in New York City on August 27, the actress slipped when the heel of her shoe broke as she walked down stairs. Despite the near wardrobe mishap, she recovered effortlessly, even managing to hold onto a bagel as she regained her footing. The footage spread rapidly online, prompting Hathaway to respond.

On August 28, she shared an edited video on Instagram that paired her recent stumble with the Princess Diaries fall. In that film, her character Mia Thermopolis tripped on the bleachers during a school scene, a real fall that director Garry Marshall decided to keep in the movie because it felt so natural.

Adding an overlay text, she wrote, “How it started… How it’s going.” The actress also captioned the post, “Twenty years later, still falling for you…” Viewers praised her for laughing off the accident and handling it with grace.

Filming for The Devil Wears Prada 2 has been underway since June 30 and has generated intense interest. Meryl Streep is reprising her role as Miranda Priestly, alongside Emily Blunt as Emily Charlton and Stanley Tucci as Nigel. New additions include Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, B.J. Novak, Pauline Chalamet, and Simone Ashley.

The storyline will reportedly follow Miranda Priestly as she navigates the shrinking influence of print magazines. She finds herself clashing against Blunt’s Emily, who has risen to an executive position at a luxury fashion group that dominates advertising spending.
