Zoë Kravitz recently recounted unknowingly dosing several people with hallucinogens. The actress revealed that on more than one occasion, guests at her home unknowingly consumed chocolate mushrooms.
Zoë Kravitz talks about ‘accidentally’ dosing people
During a recent appearance with Austin Butler for Vanity Fair’s Lie Detector Test series, Zoë Kravitz shared a story about how she unexpectedly dosed several people. Kravitz was asked if she had ever “accidentally taken hallucinogens.” She clarified that while she has “never” mistakenly taken them herself, she has unknowingly given them to others on multiple occasions. “I’ve never accidentally taken hallucinogenics, but I have accidentally dosed several people,” she stated.
The actress explained that the mix-ups happened because she kept mushrooms in the form of chocolate in her refrigerator. Friends visiting her home would help themselves without asking, unaware of what they were actually eating. Kravitz said, “It’s people who went into my fridge when I wasn’t home. It’s happened like four times.”
One incident unfolded while she was filming The Batman. A friend from Paris had come to stay at her place and unknowingly ate the chocolate mushroom while Kravitz was away at work. After receiving a panicked phone call, she had to leave the set to look after her guest.
A month later, the same thing happened again with another friend. At that point, Kravitz decided to label the items in her fridge to prevent further problems. Even so, she joked that the fault was not entirely hers, suggesting people should be more cautious before eating unmarked food. The actress said, ”But I also think you don’t go into people’s fridges and just eat, like, unmarked chocolate. …Unless it’s, like, Hershey’s.”
Butler responded with a laugh, saying, “This is a lesson for the both of you.” Most recently, in an episode of The Studio, Kravitz played herself in a storyline where her character also accidentally consumed hallucinogens.
