Jay Kelly is a coming-of-age drama movie, set to premiere on November 14 in the UK. It will begin streaming on Netflix on December 5. It focuses on Jay Kelly, a movie star who, along with his loyal manager Ron, embarks on a significant journey across Europe.
The journey makes them confront their choices, relationships, and legacy. Noah Baumbach serves as the director. Apart from Keough, the cast also includes George Clooney, Adam Sandler, Laura Dern, Billy Crudup, Grace Edwards, Stacy Keach, Jim Broadbent, and Patrick Wilson, among others.
In a past interview with Mastermind, Keough revealed what inspired her to become an actress, as opposed to a filmmaker. She said, “Yes, we would make these weird movies back then. I think I was just really shy when I was a teenager, but I wanted to act. So I would hide behind the camera and would be like, ‘I want to make movies,’ but I didn’t want to be in them. I was painfully shy when I was a teenager, and for some reason, when I turned 18 or 19, it just disappeared. “
Before Jay Kelly, Keough also voiced a couple of characters in the Abel Tesfaye (The Weeknd) and Jenna Ortega movie, Hurry Up Tomorrow.
