Forgotten Spider-Man Villain Rumored To Make MCU Return

According to the latest rumor, Michael Keaton‘s Spider-Man villain, Vulture, might return alongside Tom Holland in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Keaton last appeared in the role of the menacing antagonist in the post-credit scenes of the 2022 movie Morbius. However, since then, there has been no update regarding his character. With actors like Michael Mando and Mark Ruffalo returning in Brand New Day, fans have been discussing the possible return of Vulture.

Michael Keaton’s Vulture rumored to return after Spider-Man: Homecoming

Popular scooper My Time To Shine Hello, also known as MTTSH, recently surprised Marvel fans by stating that Michael Keaton’s Spider-Man villain, Adrian Toomes, aka Vulture, might be a part of Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

MTTSH shared a GIF of Vulture from Spider-Man: Homecoming in X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, “He’s back!” This led to many fans commenting to share their thoughts. One user speculated that Vulture will be “the main villain.” Another user commented, “The reveal he was the dad to the spidey love interest was an audible gasp in theatres. Can’t wait to see him again.”

However, this is just a rumor, and Keaton’s casting in the film has not been confirmed yet.

Notably, Keaton’s Spider-Man: Homecoming co-star Michael Mando is already confirmed to be reprising his role as Mac Gargan, aka Scorpion, in the movie. Previously, Keaton addressed the topic of his potential return in Brand New Day in an interview with Screen Rant in October 2024.

When asked by the outlet if he has any plans to return as Vulture in Spider-Man 4, Keaton said, “Oh, wow. That’s an interesting character, that guy. Actually, I was there for a minute in the second one…” He further referred to that experience as “fun” and stated he hasn’t “talked to anybody about anything.” The actor then joked about not interacting much with people and changed the subject by saying, “I try not to talk to anybody. I really don’t like people.”
