Lil Nas X has finally reacted to his apprehension, hospitalization, and subsequent arrest on his Instagram story, assuring fans that he is okay. The 26-year-old rapper made headlines after police found him nearly naked on the streets of Los Angeles last Thursday. He faces up to five years in prison if convicted of the charges against him.
Lil Nas X finally speaks up about his arrest
On Thursday, Lil Nas X was apprehended in downtown Los Angeles. According to reports, the Old Town Road singer was strolling down the streets of L.A. in just underwear and cowboy boots. Passersby also saw him place a traffic cone on his head at one point. He allegedly engaged in conversations with people on the street as well.
As per TMZ, when the police approached him, Lil Nas X charged at an officer and even punched one. Police subsequently apprehended him and took him to the hospital. Many speculated that mental health issues or extreme drug use could have contributed to his behavior.
Lil Nas X recently took to his Instagram story to inform his followers that he was okay. He said, “Your girl is gonna be okay, y’all. She’s gonna be alright,” adding, “That was a terrifying last four days,…But your girl is gonna be alright (via Pop Crush).”
Currently, the 26-year-old rapper faces three counts of battery with injury to a police officer and one count of resisting an executive officer. If found guilty, he could serve up to five years in prison. His bail was set at $75,000. He has pleaded not guilty, however. His father, Robert Stafford, said that the rapper regretted whatever happened.
