Famed restaurant chain Cracker Barrel has dropped its plans to adopt a new logo amidst intense backlash online. This rare turnaround has been celebrated by fans since. Even President Donald Trump initially slammed the change and then praised the decision to reverse the logo.
Cracker Barrel goes back to its old logo
In what is a very unusual development, Cracker Barrel’s new logo received intense backlash online despite maintaining a rather sober palette. It received intense backlash for removing the character on the logo known as the “old timer.” Many took to social media platforms to slam the change, including President Donald Trump.
Donald Trump wrote on Tuesday, “Cracker Barrel should go back to the old logo, admit a mistake based on customer response (the ultimate Poll), and manage the company better than ever before,” on his Truth Social handle.
With the intense backlash over the move, Cracker Barrel decided to go back to the old logo. It is quite rare for big brands. In a very recent post, the company announced, “We thank our guests for sharing your voices and love for Cracker Barrel. We said we would listen, and we have. Our new logo is going away, and our “Old Timer” will remain.”
The post added, “At Cracker Barrel, it’s always been – and always will be – about serving up delicious food, warm welcomes, and the kind of country hospitality that feels like family. As a proud American institution, our 70,000 hardworking employees look forward to welcoming you to our table soon.”
This move and the reversal continue to garner controversy on social media platforms.
