Ryan Reynolds recently broke a long-running record on his wife, Blake Lively‘s, birthday. Over the years, Reynolds has never missed an opportunity to share a quirky post to celebrate Lively’s birthday. However, he seems to have missed the chance to share a post this time around. Lively and Reynolds are known for frequently taking light-hearted jabs at each other on social media. The pair has garnered considerable attention since the end of last year due to Lively’s legal battle with Justin Baldoni.
Ryan Reynolds missed sharing quirky post for Blake Lively
Blake Lively’s birthday took place on August 25, 2025, but Ryan Reynolds did not put up a quirky post to celebrate the occasion, breaking a long-standing tradition.
Meanwhile, Lively took to Instagram stories to highlight the birthday wishes she received from her friends, family members, and colleagues.
Reynolds is well-known for his posts about his wife on her birthday. In 2017, the actor shared a photo on Instagram to mark Lively’s birthday. However, she was largely cropped out of the photo. Lively retaliated with her own humorous post by sharing a picture of Ryan Gosling when posting about Reynolds’ birthday later that year.
Later in 2019, the Free Guy star shared a photo carousel on Lively’s birthday. In the pictures, Lively appeared unprepared or tired and could be seen blinking or pulling funny faces.
Four years later, however, Reynolds shared a moving tribute to Lively on her birthday with some adorable snaps.
“The only thing irrevocably mine in the world is the love and appreciation and awe I feel for this person,” The Adam Project star wrote. “Witnessing her life is something I couldn’t take for granted if I tried. And believe me, I try. Happy Birthday, @blakelively. You hung the damn moon.”
Lively also humorously pressured Reynolds to cook up something special for her birthday after he produced a music video for his Wrexham A.F.C. co-owner, Rob McElhenney, for his birthday in 2023. She wrote, “That’s a lot of effort you put into this, can’t wait for August 25th.” (via E! News)
