The mystery teen-drama show, which aired on television between 2017 and 2023, put Apa on the map and garnered him a considerable number of followers. In the series, Apa essayed Archie Andrews. He was involved in relationships with several characters, most notably Lili Reinhart’s Betty Cooper and Camila Mendes’ Veronica Lodge.

KJ Apa and Madelyn Cline recently sat down for an interview with Entertainment Weekly, promoting their film The Map That Leads to You. In it, the pair discussed their time on teen drama shows and how they faced a lot of developments off-screen, particularly when it came to relationships with co-stars.
“You have sex with them and stuff, and then things start happening,” the actor said. “And then things get a little complicated, and then you’re on set, and now you’re fighting with them.”
Apa further revealed that he was a virgin for the initial few years of his time on the show. “I was a virgin when I started on that show, too, for the first couple years,” he shared. “I was a proud Christian boy. I was.”
Apa, who was formerly involved with French model Clara Berry, with whom he shares a son, Sasha Vai Keneti Apa, has never been romantically linked with any of his female Riverdale co-stars.
The Map That Leads to You is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video. The film is based on J.P. Monninger’s novel of the same name.
Besides KJ Apa and Madelyn Cline, the film also stars Sofia Wylie, Madison Thompson, Orlando Norman, and Josh Lucas, among many others.
