Authorities confirmed on Thursday that award-winning rapper Lil Nas X was arrested following a street incident in Los Angeles.
Police said they received a call at Ventura Boulevard at 5:30 a.m. local time. The report claimed a man was walking naked, only in his underwear. According to a Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson, officers arrived at the scene soon after. They alleged the “Old Town Road” singer charged at them, leading to his arrest on suspicion of battery.
According to the LAPD, the 26-year-old was then transported to a hospital for treatment of a possible overdose. Nas X’s representatives have not responded to the ongoing situation. TMZ published an unverified video showing the rapper in cowboy boots and underwear dancing in the street and inviting bystanders to “come to the party.”
Lil Nas X, born Montero Lamar Hill, is preparing to release his second studio album, Dreamboy, later in 2025. He teased new music on Instagram earlier this year and will reveal more details in the coming months.
The Georgia-born artist rose to prominence in 2019 with “Old Town Road.” The song spent 17 weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100. It earned him two Grammy Awards and made him the first openly gay man to receive a Country Music Association award.
