A survey was recently conducted revealing the hobbies that women find most and least attractive in a man. In the world of dating, looks and personality play a big role in how a man appears to women. However, another key factor can determine the success or failure of matches between men and women: hobbies, or what one does in their spare time.
The world has all kinds of men and women, as well as an innumerable number of hobbies to pursue. A hobby can make all the difference for a man, as it has the potential to either attract or put off women.
This is the most attractive hobby a man can have, survey says
According to a recent survey conducted by Date Psychology, the most attractive hobby for a man, according to women, is reading (via The Daily Mail).
Reading was followed by learning a foreign language, playing an instrument, cooking, and woodworking. Other hobbies that ranked highly in the survey included painting, writing, gardening, swimming, hiking, archery, and photography.
Meanwhile, hobbies considered the least attractive for a man, according to women, included the manosphere (a space filled with toxic masculinity and misogyny), gambling, watching porn, arguing online, and collecting Funko Pops. Other unattractive hobbies were reading comic books, cosplay, debating, clubbing, marijuana use, and drinking.
Surprisingly, playing video games—a common hobby for men—didn’t make it onto the list.
Users had a variety of reactions to the survey.
“Good to know blacksmithing can get the ladies goin’,” one user wrote on a Reddit thread.
Another asked, “Is it ironic that ‘manosphere’ is the least attractive, given how much time is spent trying to conquer women and talking about how alpha they are, or is it just completely predictable? Or both?”
Some felt the survey results didn’t matter and said it was important for men to enjoy their hobbies regardless of others’ opinions.
“Who cares what hobbies they find attractive? If you do your hobbies just for women, you’ve lost,” one user wrote.
Another commented, “What’s important is to do something you find fulfilling and enjoyable. If you are just doing it to impress other people, you are unlikely to stick with it.”
