After the huge success of Superman, which has effectively reset the DC Universe to great acclaim, all eyes are now on the upcoming Supergirl movie, which features Milly Alcock in the leading role of Superman’s cousin, Kara Zor-El. As Superman nears the conclusion of its theatrical run, James Gunn posted a BTS photo of David Corenswet in his Superman costume posing with Milly Alcock, who will soon take on the role of Supergirl.

Excitement is growing around Supergirl, which will adapt the Woman of Tomorrow storyline. The casting of the House of the Dragon star as Supergirl has already drawn attention.
In the brief scene where Alcock appeared in James Gunn’s Superman, she captured the attention of fans. It also appears that her story could be more complex than what was shown in the latest DCU film. Supergirl is one of the first films from the DCU following Superman.
James Gunn recently posted a photo of David Corenswet and Milly Alcock on his official Instagram handle with the caption, “Have you seen #Superman in theaters yet?” The post does not feature Alcock in her Supergirl costume but reflects the energy she carried in her brief scene in the film. Corenswet wears the Superman costume with the iconic belt and holds his phone.
So far, very little of Milly Alcock’s Supergirl has been revealed. Reports suggest DC is intentionally keeping details under wraps to build suspense around the movie.
The studio has scheduled the film to premiere on June 26, 2026, meaning fans will see Supergirl on screen soon. More updates are expected in the coming days.
