Nick Cannon has been making headlines for his stance on coparenting on his podcast, Nick Cannon @ Night. During the latest episode, the comedian was asked a question related to people dealing with coparenting relationships. However, he had a completely opposite view regarding the procedure.
Nick Cannon says he doesn’t believe in the term ‘co-parenting’
In the latest episode of his Wondery podcast, Nick Cannon answered a fan question on X concerning coparenting. The fan wrote, “Curious to hear Nick’s perspective on managing multiple co-parenting relationships while dating. It’s a unique situation that could offer some real insights for blended families.” For the unaware, Nick Cannon is the father of 12 kids from multiple relationships.
However, the 44-year-old replied stating that he “always kind of had an issue” with the term “co-parenting.” Cannon shared that he would like to call it just “parenting.” The “Gigolo” singer further added, “When you start throwing labels on things, I think it does more harm than help and can get very dangerous, because then everybody else has a preconceived notion of what you’re doing.”
He continued, “I haven’t figured it out yet. I haven’t gotten it all the way right. But also to your point, if I just step into every situation with respect and compassion and individuality. That’s the other thing I always do with anyone I’m involved with in my life.” Additionally, Nick Cannon opened up about the mothers of his 12 kids. “I don’t bunch them together. I really try my hardest not to be like, ‘Oh yeah, my baby mamas,’ you know, unless I’m telling a joke or something like that, but no one wants to be grouped into anything.”
The host explained, “Everyone wants to be treated like an individual with respect and compassion.” Cannon was also asked about all the mothers getting along. However, he hilariously answered, “No! Do you know six women anywhere that get along?”
Nick Cannon is a father to 12 kids from six relationships: Moroccan, Monroe, Golden, Powerful Queen, Zion, Zillion, Zen, Legendary, Onyx, Rise, Beautiful, and Halo.
