Brad Pitt’s Custody Limits Ending Might See Angelina Jolie Quit Hollywood

A new report suggests that Angelina Jolie might be leaving Hollywood after Brad Pitt‘s custody restrictions are lifted. It also suggests that Jolie is planning to sell the house she has been living in. Jolie and Pitt, who were declared legally single in 2019 after the former filed for divorce from the latter in 2016, entered a legal battle that lasted several years. The lawsuit culminated late last year after both parties reached a divorce settlement. However, the former couple — who share six children — are still engaged in a legal battle over their French winery, Château Miraval.

Angelina Jolie is leaving Hollywood after Brad Pitt’s custody restrictions are lifted, as per a new report.

According to PEOPLE, an insider told the outlet that the Salt star “never wanted to live in L.A. full time.” However, they noted that she “didn’t have a choice” due to her “custody arrangement” with Pitt. The insider further stated that Jolie plans “to relocate as soon as” her youngest children, twins Vivienne and Knox, turn 18.

“She’s eyeing several locations abroad,” the insider added. “She’ll be very happy when she’s able to leave Los Angeles.”

The insider’s comments seem to confirm what Jolie had earlier stated in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in 2024. In that interview, the Maleficent actress explained that her divorce was the reason she remained in Los Angeles. However, she also expressed that once her children turn 18, she would have the opportunity to leave.

“When you have a big family, you want them to have privacy, peace, safety,” she added. “I have a house now to raise my children, but sometimes this place can be … that humanity that I found across the world is not what I grew up with here.”

She concluded by stating she would “spend a lot of time in Cambodia,” after leaving Los Angeles. Jolie also said she would spend her time visiting family members around the world.

Moreover, according to Page Six, Jolie is gearing up to sell the estate of legendary filmmaker Cecil B. DeMille. She purchased the property in 2017 for $24.5 million. Notably, Jolie reportedly isolated herself and her children on the estate during the COVID-19 pandemic. She also reportedly sheltered friends, displaced by the greater Southern California wildfires that took place early this year, at the property.
