Despite turning 36, Travis Kelce continues evading retirement and will be seen on the field in the 2025-26 NFL season. Nevertheless, the three-time Super Bowl winner has thought about what his life might look like after hanging up his boots for good. In a recent interview, Kelce opened up about his plans following his inevitable retirement from the NFL. He stated that he would want to remain connected to the sport in one way or another.

During a recent conversation, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end revealed that he intends to lead a life that is driven by curiosity and not necessarily focus on constantly achieving success after he decides to embrace retirement from football.
“I know to stay away from a few things that I dabbled in early,” Travis Kelce noted to GQ. He is currently in the last year of his contract with the Chiefs. However, the Cincinnati Bearcats alum has already established revenue streams in multiple fields, including his own media enterprise.
Kelce co-hosts the fan-favorite New Heights podcast with his elder brother, Jason. Additionally, he has invested in several Missouri car washes and family businesses that give back to their local communities. “The whole ‘teaming up’ aspect is something that I’ll always kind of desire,” he said.
The ten-time Pro Bowler then added, “I don’t necessarily know if I’ll take it and run with it when I’m done playing, but I know that I want to stay around the football world as a profession and then dabble in other areas as well.” Travis Kelce then remarked how former players like Pat McAfee are “making it fun.” This alludes to the latter’s commentary gig with ESPN.
Kelce may not have figured out what exactly he wants to do after retirement. Yet, he has an idea of how to do it. “I do want to have free time, I do want to have the ability to be around my family. I don’t want to get too busy to where I’m traveling all over the world and I’m not present at home,” the Ohio native stated.
