In a recent Vanity Fair profile on Jennifer Aniston, Jason Bateman revealed that she has been a constant part of his daughters’ lives, describing her as more of a “co-mom” than just a family friend.
The Ozark actor has two daughters, 18-year-old Francesca and 13-year-old Maple, with wife Amanda Anka. He says Aniston’s connection with his kids is so deep and consistent that it often makes him and Anka feel like they have a parenting partner. “She almost makes us parents look bad because she’s so incredibly attentive and consistent with her curiosity and warmth,” Bateman told the outlet. “She’s the first one to call or text about big dates in the girls’ lives. She has questions about boyfriends,” he added.
Furthermore, he defined whether it’s more on the lines of an aunt. “Aunts, you might not see all the time. She’s almost closer to a co-mom with Amanda. She’s been a part of their lives from the moment they were born,” he added. Like Aniston recalled, “Well, there’s my bikini. Your child is now wearing my bikinis. Whoa. We’ve come a long way.” The two families frequently travel together and were recently spotted vacationing in Mallorca alongside Amy Schumer and Aniston’s rumored new partner, Jim Curtis.
Aniston, meanwhile, continues to make be on the news not only for her work but also for her openness about friendships and personal loss. In a 2023 Instagram post, she reflected on the death of Friends co-star Matthew Perry, calling him a beloved part of her “chosen family” and remembering the joy he brought to those around him.
