A new report on The Batman Part II suggests that the script for the movie includes an iconic member of the Bat-Family. The Batman, helmed and co-written by Matt Reeves, came out in 2022 and was a massive success. Reeves and co-writer Mattson Tomlin had finished the script for the sequel in June 2025.
Matt Reeves’ Batman Part 2 script reportedly includes Robin
Jeff Sneider cited a “well-placed source” in a recent post on his website to claim that Robin or the Boy Wonder is part of Reeves and Tomlin’s script for the sequel. There have been considerable rumors on the subject since The Batman. Sneider speculated that this should draw the interest of talent agents when Warner Bros. begins casting for the role.
Robin is an extremely important character in the Batman mythos and DC Comics as a whole. Several characters have donned the mantle of Robin. The first one, Dick Grayson, made his debut in Detective Comics #38 in 1940. If Robin is indeed part of the narrative, Sneider hasn’t disclosed which version of the character can appear in The Batman Part II.
The source also reportedly told Sneider that Reeves and Tomlin’s script was “worth the wait” and that it was a “big swing” for the pair. The source apparently claimed that DC Studios was “extremely pleased” with how things are progressing now that Reeves and Tomlin have submitted their screenplay.
The report comes after Warner Bros. Discovery announced that the production for The Batman Part II will commence in spring 2026. An update shared by ProductionList.com claimed that it will start at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in London, United Kingdom, on January 1, 2026.
The cast reportedly includes Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne / Batman, Jeffrey Wright as James “Jim” Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred, and Colin Farrell as Oswald “Oz” Cobb / The Penguin. Batman Part II debuts in U.S. theaters on October 1, 2027.
