Patrick Schwarzenegger’s Avengers: Doomsday ‘Set Photo’ Stirs up X-Men Rumors

A new Avengers: Doomsday reported set photo has sparked speculation about Marvel Studios casting Patrick Schwarzenegger in a major X-Men role. The latest buzz links him to the role of Cyclops in the upcoming Avengers outing, though Marvel has not confirmed any official casting.

Patrick Schwarzenegger’s supposed Avengers: Doomsday set photo hints he’s in it too

A post by @UnBoxPHDFILM on X (formerly Twitter) featured a photo of Patrick Schwarzenegger reportedly on the set of Avengers: Doomsday, stating, “Patrick Schwarzenegger on SET! He has been rumored to play Cyclops in Avengers Doomsday!”

The post went live on May 12, 2025, and has since gained over 198,000 views. @UnBoxPHDFILM is the same account that previously shared accurate set photos from Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, increasing speculation around this new image.

However, well-known scooper @MyTimeToShineH challenged the claim’s reliability. In a direct reply, they wrote, “Not for Doomsday. There’s only one Cyclops actor in that film,” suggesting Schwarzenegger does not appear in the project.

James Marsden will reprise his role as Cyclops in the officially confirmed cast for Avengers: Doomsday. Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Alan Cumming, and Rebecca Romijn will also return as their respective X-Men characters in the movie.

Additional speculation regarding Schwarzenegger’s involvement in Marvel projects has circulated. Main Middle Man, another scooper, recently posted on X that “Patrick [Schwarzenegger] is being eyed for a role in the X-Men reboot for the MCU.”

On May 8, 2025, Deadline reported that Marvel is considering Thunderbolts* director Jake Schreier to direct the upcoming X-Men reboot, expected to release after Avengers: Secret Wars.

Separately, another image circulating online shows what appears to be James Marsden and Benedict Wong seemingly on the Avengers: Doomsday set. While the authenticity remains unverified, the photo sparked speculation about scenes involving Wong’s Sorcerer Supreme.

Marvel has not officially confirmed these reports or commented on the reported set photos and casting speculation.
