Subway’s Footlong Nachos Go Viral Following Reviews

Subway’s footlong nachos have received mixed reactions on social media from users who have tried them. The fast-food restaurant released the food item in collaboration with Doritos on April 10, 2025, for $5. The item, which is only available for a limited time, blends the crunchiness of Doritos’ chips with various ingredients and flavors typically found in Subway’s sandwiches.

When the footlong nachos were first released, fans got the opportunity to try all three varieties of the item for free. Moreover, Subway’s MVP Rewards members could avail a special offer, wherein they could get a free Footlong Doritos Nachos when purchasing any footlong sub.

Internet reacts to Subway’s footlong nachos

On X (formerly Twitter), a user named Kevin shared a video of the footlong nachos he purchased from Subway, showing what the food item looked like. In the video, he said that he was not going to eat it.

He explained the reason, “You know, sometimes you look at something you’re like that’s gonna make my stomach hurt.” Kevin continued, “I feel like it’s gonna make my stomach hurt, and I got stuff to do today, and I can’t risk it, so never mind.”

The above video sparked a plethora of reactions from netizens. One user wrote, “I thought subway was supposed to be healthy lol.”

Meanwhile, another asked, “Don’t you get to choose what goes on them though?”

A netizen suggested that the Subway footlong nachos were “a scandal.” They wrote, “Looks like it took them all of 5 seconds to throw them together. That is a shame and a scandal.”

In a separate tweet, Kevin suggested that Subway should “wrap it up as a business.” However, the restaurant’s social media account clapped back at his comment. They wrote, “Since you have your little footlong degree and know everything!”

Previously, in April, upon the footlong nachos’ release, some outlets reviewed the item. The Delish’s Danielle Harring shared that while they enjoyed eating it, it felt “very snacky” to them. Elaborating, they stated that after eating the footlong nachos, they were a “little full” but not satisfied.

Harring added, “It’s something I’d probably pick up after noshing on a fancy five-course meal that didn’t quite hit the spot (you know the one!).”

Meanwhile, MassLive’s Nick O’Malley opined that the item was “kinda fun for a $4.99 snack,” but said that he wouldn’t order it again. “I’d give them a 2/5 on the nacho scale,” they added. “They certainly fall well short of what you’d get if you ordered proper nachos at a restaurant.”
