Selena Gomez recently reunited with her Wizards of Waverly Place co-star, Jennifer Stone. The former confirmed her reunion with the latter via social media.
In the series, which ran on Disney Channel between 2007 and 2012, Gomez played one of the protagonists, Alex Russo. Meanwhile, Stone played Harper Finkle, Alex’s best friend, who initially had a crush on the latter’s brother, Justin, before falling in love with his best friend, Zeke Beakerman.
Stone has not yet reprised her role in the sequel, Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, which takes place 15 years after the events of the original series. However, she co-hosts the podcast Wizards of Waverly Pod with Jerry Russo actor David DeLuise.
Selena Gomez reunites with Jennifer Stone in new post
On August 4, Selena Gomez shared a series of pictures on Instagram depicting recent developments in her personal life. One of the photos features Jennifer Stone. She can be seen sitting across a table from the Only Murders in the Building star, with whom she was sharing a meal.
Gomez captioned the post, “Good times, good food, good people.”
Selena Gomez’s reunion with Jennifer Stone sparked a plethora of reactions on social media. On Reddit, a fan wrote, “I will never understand why they didn’t bring her back for the reboot. The new character married to Justin is basically a Harper copycat in all ways.”
Meanwhile, another commented on the actress’ beauty. They wrote, “She reminds me of Marilyn Monroe. She’s just so pretty.”
A netizen also exclaimed, “I love it when old cast mates get together!”
Stone, who is currently a registered nurse, took a hiatus from acting in 2013 after starring in Nothing Left to Fear. She later returned in 2019 via The In-Between, which she not only acted in but also co-wrote and produced. However, since then, she has not appeared in any notable film or television project.
During her hiatus, Stone originally decided to major in psychology. However, she pivoted to nursing after being diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when she was 20. She explained the reason for her major change in a PEOPLE interview. The Mean Girls 2 actress said she wanted to “further understand” what was happening with her body, and also help others.
Stone graduated from nursing school in December 2019.
