San Diego Padres fans were surprised to discover Emma Stone and Jonah Hill on the jumbotron at Petco Park wearing customized Padres jerseys. Stone sported a stunning new haircut and wore a vintage 1999 Tony Gwynn jersey. Hill wore a casual jersey and wrote his own name on the back.

Fans discussed whether Stone is intentionally keeping her hair short. Some also wondered if she is working on a project that required her to choose the refreshing pixie cut. One fan discussed on Reddit, “She buzzed it for a movie, but it’s been about this length since the Oscars in Feb. In short (pun intended), I think she’s keeping it this short.” Another praised Stone’s gorgeous haircut, saying, “She can literally rock any hair!!”

Meanwhile, the recent appearance of Stone and Hill also led to netizens discussing the duo’s decade-spanning friendship. Their bond started on the set of the comedy film Superbad (2007). The duo also acted together in Netflix‘s psychological miniseries Maniac.

Beyond their off-camera friendship, critics praised the duo’s “truly unusual chemistry” in the Netflix project. The New Republic had noted the duo’s on-screen partnership created “a psychological bond with potential healing power.”

During the promotion of Maniac, both Stone and Hill also opened up about their real-life dynamics and how it felt to return to a project as co-workers. Stone gushed, “We’ve always stayed in touch, so it wasn’t really like, ‘Oh my god, we haven’t seen each other for a decade and now we’re getting to know each other again!’ But it was amazing to spend so much time in a row together.” (Source: People)

The Wolf of Wall Street actor echoed the sentiment, adding, “Working with people in our business, if you love them, is great because it’s like a really concentrated amount of time. We’re always in different places making stuff, so it was great.”

With Maniac now seven years in the rearview mirror, their public reunion has left fans wondering. Many are now speculating whether another collaboration.
