The Miami Dolphins have suffered a massive blow to their chances of making it big in their upcoming NFL campaign after losing Kader Kohou to a knee injury. The 26-year-old cornerback, who joined forces with the Dolphins in 2022, sustained a heavy knock during one of his side’s training sessions, which ultimately put a premature end to his season.

On Saturday, Kader Kohou partially tore his ACL during a one-on-one drills routine, with the knee injury forcing him to limp back to his locker room with the help of the Dolphins’ medical staff. In accordance, head coach Mike McDaniel announced on Wednesday that Miami will be putting Kohou on injured reserve, effectively ruling him out of the 2025-26 NFL season.
“I saw him ascend to a different level this offseason. The timing of it — I was crushed until I talked to Kader, and honestly, Kader made me feel a little bit better, simply by his mindset,” McDaniel noted while talking about Kohou’s injury in a recent press conference. (via ESPN)
The veteran tactician continued to shower the Ivorian with praise, stating, “Kader made me feel a little bit better, simply by his mindset. You don’t know the whys all the time when things happen. Kader’s mindset triggered like that, to where he said, ‘This is tough, but I guarantee I’m going to come back better.’ That is the way to approach both the game of football and life.”
In addition to Kader Kohou, the Dolphins will also be missing fellow cornerback Artie Burns, who also sustained an ACL injury during Miami’s first day of camp. Although the Fins have recruited the likes of Cornell Armstrong, Jack Jones, and Mike Hilton over the past week, McDaniel has noted that his side will be scouting the veteran free agent market to add more cornerbacks to their roster.
