Blake Lively Hit With Another Fight Amid Justin Baldoni Case

Blake Lively is facing fresh legal pushback, as Perez Hilton has revealed his plans to challenge the subpoena from her team. He claims that the “invasive” subpoena intrudes on his privacy and threatens free expression. The development is a new twist in Lively’s ongoing legal battle with Justin Baldoni.

What happened to Blake Lively?

Perez Hilton has announced plans to challenge Blake Lively’s subpoena demanding access to his private records.

In court documents filed in Manhattan federal court, the celebrity blogger confirmed he is finalizing a motion to quash the subpoena, which he received on July 19. The order seeks a wide array of documents, “including internal records, unpublished material, and personal correspondence.” Hilton labeled the request a “fishing expedition disguised as a subpoena.” (via New York Post)

He also alleged that he is not the only media figure being targeted. According to Hilton, several other journalists and content creators have been served similar subpoenas by Lively’s team, despite having no particular involvement in her ongoing dispute with actor Justin Baldoni. Instead, he argued, they were simply “engaging in protected commentary about a public legal proceeding.”

Hilton also noted that some of the court filings related to these subpoenas included the home addresses of journalists and others not officially named in the proceedings. He stated, “These actions create an undue burden, chill free expression, and raise profound privacy and safety concerns.” He has now requested the court to order Lively’s legal team to notify a judge before sending out any more subpoenas.

Lively’s spokesperson responded, denying that there was any wrongdoing. They said, “This isn’t accurate. To the extent addresses are included in filings, is because it is required to do so under federal law to establish either that service of a subpoena has been completed or that service was not completed.”

Hilton recently addressed the subpoena publicly during an appearance on The JV Show. He said, “She refuses to accept that us and the public have formed opinions on their own, and that’s really the crux of it all.”
