Leonardo DiCaprio Set to Open Luxury Hotel

As per the latest reports, Leonardo DiCaprio will soon co-own a new luxury hotel in Tel Aviv, Israel, after getting approval from the Tel Aviv District Planning and Building Committee. The plans for this partnership between DiCaprio, The Harag Group, and brothers Ahikam and Lior Cohen go back to 2018.

Is Leonardo DiCaprio opening a luxury hotel?

The Titanic star’s hotel in Israel was reportedly being planned for a long time. However, the project got delayed because the plans of the establishment changed from 10,000 square meters to 51,000 square meters. Now, it is set to have 14 floors and a whopping 365 rooms.

The project will be built on the Herzliya Marina area of Tel Aviv. Leonardo DiCaprio owns a ten percent stake in the project. Meanwhile, the rest of the ownership is between The Harag Group and brothers Ahikam and Lior Cohen. The project’s plans date back to 2018, but it got approval for deposit in 2024. “We welcome the decision of the Tel Aviv District Committee. The Herzliya Marina project is another instance of the group’s strategic planning, spanning various real estate ventures, including urban renewal, profitable real estate, and hotels. The meticulous planning reflects our commitment to international standards, evident also in Herzliya Marina,” The Harag Group said in a statement about this project in an official statement in 2024.

During the approval, Chairman of the Tel Aviv District Committee, Eran Nitzan, had said, “The plan mirrors the committee’s support for and promotion of hotel initiatives along the coastline and within marinas. It aims to develop a promenade, a public square, and restaurant facades along the hotel’s stretch, enhancing public spaces.”

This update comes amidst Leonardo DiCaprio’s silence on the Gaza crisis. The Academy Award winner is a United Nations Messenger for Peace. However, he has yet to publicly address the current situation.
