What Happened to Paul Gallagher? Noel & Liam’s Brother Rape Charges Explained

Paul Gallagher, the older brother of Oasis co-founders Noel and Liam Gallagher, is facing a series of serious criminal charges, including rape and multiple other violent offenses. The case, which started from alleged incidents spanning 2022 to 2024, has drawn significant attention.

Here are details of the charges against him.

Here’s what happened to Paul Gallagher

Paul Gallagher has been formally charged with rape and a series of violent offenses, according to a statement released by the Metropolitan Police. Furthermore, the 59-year-old was charged following an investigation that began in 2024.

Authorities confirmed that Gallagher faces multiple charges: one count of rape, three counts of sexual assault, three counts of intentional strangulation, two counts of making threats to kill, and one count of coercive and controlling behavior, as well as one count of assault causing actual bodily harm. These charges relate to alleged incidents that occurred between 2022 and 2024. A police spokesperson stated that the woman involved is receiving care and support from specially trained officers.

Gallagher currently resides in East Finchley, located in north London. He is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on August 27. In a public statement issued on July 28, his legal representatives at Carson Kaye Solicitors said that Gallagher has denied the allegations.

The statement read, “Paul Gallagher has been charged with a number of offenses all relating to a single complainant. Mr. Gallagher has consistently engaged with the police throughout their investigation and always strongly denied the allegations made against him. He looks forward to clearing his name, but as there are now ongoing legal proceedings, our client is unable to comment further.”

Moreover, these developments arrive just weeks after Oasis launched their long-anticipated international reunion tour. It began on July 4 at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium. The tour will continue with performances in Toronto on August 24. It will then be followed by scheduled shows in Chicago, East Rutherford, and Pasadena.
