Tom Cruise and Ana de Armas were seen enjoying an Oasis concert together at Wembley Stadium this past weekend. But it was surprising for many, considering the band’s past digs at the Hollywood icon.
Tom Cruise and Ana de Armas were spotted at Oasis concert
Tom Cruise and Ana de Armas joined the crowd at Oasis’ concert recently and attended the legendary Britpop band’s back-to-back shows in London on Friday, July 25, and Saturday, July 26, as part of Oasis’ highly anticipated reunion tour. The duo, set to co-star in the upcoming supernatural thriller Deeper, was caught in the background of a video shared by English DJ and producer Goldie, who was also in attendance.
Goldie posted a selfie with the Mission: Impossible star and a separate video that briefly featured both Cruise and Ana de Armas seemingly grooving to the band’s performance. Fans quickly picked up on it, especially considering Oasis’ long and public history of mocking Cruise.
Back in the band’s 2007 documentary Lord Don’t Slow Me Down, the Gallagher brothers, aka Liam and Noel, made no secret of their dislike for Cruise’s filmography. Noel Gallagher infamously quipped, “He’s a little f—er, and he’s not been in one good film his entire career.” Liam, however, did come to Cruise’s defense in the same clip, saying, “Cocktail is great.” Others in the room even shouted out Eyes Wide Shut as a favorite.
The tension between the Gallaghers and Cruise didn’t end there. In 2009, reports claimed Cruise confronted Liam about those very comments during a chance encounter at a Berlin hotel while promoting Valkyrie. According to reports, the two “made polite conversation.” (via Stop Crying Your Heart Out)
Despite the rocky history, Cruise didn’t seem fazed at Wembley. Instead, he appeared to be enjoying the night with Ana de Armas, further fueling interest in their upcoming project Deeper, directed by Doug Liman. The film, which reportedly begins production in August, is described as a supernatural ocean thriller and is the duo’s first collaboration.
