Pop sensation Beyoncé invited Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland of Destiny’s Child to the final show of the Cowboy Carter tour, making fans emotional. The trio performed some of the nostalgic hits of the famous girl group.
The trio started with “Lose My Breath” before participating in the “mute challenge” during “Energy.” At the end of their much-awaited reunion, the trio performed their iconic hit “Bootylicious.”
The energy instantly turned electric when fans spotted Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland on stage, and the trio embraced each other at the end of their Destiny’s Child medley.
Commenting on the former girl group’s reunion, a fan posted, “Most legendary girl group of all time reuniting? Yeah, this is the greatest tour in history.” Another fan speculated that the reunion could indicate that the singers plan to make a comeback in the future with an official album release.
One fan posted on Reddit, “I could see a song with them on R3 (the third part of Renaissance), the fantasy would be a little EP of a couple rerecordings and a couple new songs.”
Destiny’s Child began as Girl’s Tyme in 1990 in Houston, Texas, when nine-year-old Beyoncé Knowles and LaTavia Roberson formed the group. After a decade of trying to establish themselves, the original quartet, Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, LaTavia Roberson, and LeToya Luckett, got an offer from Columbia Records in 1997.
The group began its journey as Destiny’s Child in the late nineties and disbanded in 2005. Before their official disbandment, Roberson and Luckett departed the group in early 2000 due to internal conflicts. On June 11, 2005, during their Barcelona concert, the trio announced their breakup to 16,000 fans.
