DC Studios recently released the new trailer for Peacemaker Season 2, and fans have shared a myriad of reactions online. Releasing in August, the second installment is a part of James Gunn’s new DC Universe. In it, the titular protagonist, played by John Cena, discovers an alternate world where his deepest desires are fulfilled. However, this finding prompts him to face his troubled past and decide the course of his future.

The Peacemaker Season 2 official trailer was released by HBO Max and DC Studios on July 27, 2025. Its YouTube description reads, “Making peace with yourself is harder than it looks.” Fans reacted to the official trailer in a plethora of ways, expressing excitement for the upcoming installment.
“I am so looking forward to this,” a fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “I loved the humor in the first trailer — that hooked me — but excited to see how these dimensional rifts play a part in the new DCEU.”

Meanwhile, several fans expressed sadness upon hearing Ozzy Osbourne’s “Road to Nowhere,” which was used as the soundtrack for the trailer. Osbourne passed away at the age of 76 on July 22, 2025, a few weeks after his final live performance at the Back to the Beginning farewell concert.

Peacemaker Season 2 premieres on August 21, 2025, on HBO Max. James Gunn recently revealed via Instagram that the rock band Foxy Shazam will perform the official theme song for the second season.
The co-CEO of the DC Studios wrote all eight episodes of Season 2. He also directed three of them. Greg Mottola, Peter Sollett, and Alethea Jones are the other directors for the upcoming installment.
Besides John Cena, the second season also stars Danielle Brooks, Freddie Stroma, Jennifer Holland, Robert Patrick, and Steve Agee. Frank Grillo, Sol Rodríguez, Tim Meadows, and Michael Rooker will also be part of Season 2.
