Jenna Ortega reveals how grown men approach her
During a recent conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, Jenna Ortega discussed how fan interactions can be unexpectedly overwhelming. Although many of these encounters are positive, Ortega admitted that she often feels anxious when approached by strangers in public settings.
When asked whether any of those fan experiences had ever turned frightening, Ortega responded honestly. She said, “I’m always scared. Somebody shouting your name in public is insane. Sometimes I feel uncomfortable when it’s grown men approaching me.”
The Wednesday star also recalled extreme instances, revealing that fans have sometimes shouted offensive and abusive things at her. She said, “Also, sometimes people shout vile things. Like, you don’t stop for somebody because you’re going to be late for something and they’re calling you a ‘c— w—-‘ in front of your mother. It’s horrific.”
During the same interview, Tim Burton, Wednesday director, also reflected on how fame has evolved. He remarked, “I miss the days of mystery.” Burton also said he missed the days when people didn’t know so much about actors. Ortega agreed, saying, “That’s the discussion on ‘the death of the movie star,’ and that’s exactly it.”
Ortega shared that the public often believes they have a right to actors’ private lives. She said, “We know too much. And the people feel entitled to those bits and pieces of your life where if they were put under the same microscope, they wouldn’t feel nearly as comfortable.”
