Winona Ryder shares why she kept chicken carcass from Christopher Walken
Winona Ryder recently sat down for an interview with Elle UK, where she discussed her career in Hollywood and shared several anecdotes about her acting experiences and colleagues. During the discussion, she recalled a time when she was completely enamored with Christopher Walken.
Ryder’s infatuation with the actor was so great that when Walken gave her a rotisserie chicken, which he purchased from a supermarket, she treasured its carcass for “a weirdly long time, because it came from him.” Ryder continued, “I still have the wishbone and am trying to make it into a necklace.”
The Stranger Things actress also recalled the time she had feelings for Al Pacino. The two actors worked together on the films Simone and Looking for Richard.
“I was absolutely in love with Al Pacino when I was working with him,” the Academy Award nominee stated. “We were doing that workshop for Richard III, which I didn’t know was gonna be a movie.”
She continued, “I was actively in love with him. He was obsessed with coffee, and he would take me all over New York – like, to the weirdest places – to try different coffees.”
The Reality Bites actress recalled confessing her feelings for him after he dropped her off at her residence and revealed how The Godfather icon’s response went. “Aw, honey, noooo,” Ryder said.
“Then, like 10 years later, I meet his girlfriend, who’s younger than me,” Ryder added, laughing about the event. “Dude, I’m f—— throwing myself at you.” She concluded her story, revealing that she and the Scarface actor would play poker together occasionally.
