Why Is ‘Sydney Sweeney Kickin’ It’ Trending?

The phrase Sydney Sweeney Kickin’ It’ has started trending online recently, as fans discovered that she had a cameo role in a Disney XD comedy series. It served as one of her earlier projects in her acting career, before she shot to stardom. The show, which aired on television between 2011 and 2015, was created by Jim O’Doherty. It also featured Leo Howard, Mateo Arias, Jason Earles, and Olivia Holt.

‘Sydney Sweeney Kickin’ It’ is trending because the Euphoria actress had a cameo in the Disney XD show, Kickin’ It.

In the series, Sydney Sweeney played Kelsey Vargas, and now fans have discovered the same via a TikTok video. She appeared in the fifth episode of Season 1, “Swords and Magic.” In the episode, Jerry Martínez, played by Mateo Arias, develops a crush on Kelsey Vargas, whom he calls the “coolest girl in school.”

Jerry tries to impress Kelsey by lying that the students at his dojo respect and fear him. Unfortunately, his attempts are thwarted by Kim Crawford (Olivia Holt). She debunks all of his lies by delivering a swift karate move that brings him to the floor.

The Disney XD series is one among several of Sweeney’s earliest acting projects, during the period when she was nothing more than a guest star. The Anyone But You star’s other earlier credits in guest roles include Heroes, Criminal Minds, Chase, 90210, Grey’s Anatomy, and The Middle.

Kickin’ It follows Sensei Rudy, who runs a martial arts school — The Bobby Wasabi Martial Arts Academy. This institute, considered the worst dojo in the nationwide Bobby Wasabi chain, faces the danger of closure. However, the situation changes when Jack Brewer (Leo Howard) hesitantly joins the dojo.

In the process, Brewer finds himself part of a crew. It includes himself, Jerry — who is tough but constantly slacks off, and Kim — an expert martial artist confident in her skills. The trio soon starts teaching life, karate, and the mantra of “kick it” to neighborhood goofballs. They eventually form an unlikely friendship, realizing that they can become a force to be reckoned with if they stand together.

Kickin’ It is currently available for streaming on Disney+.
