Jessica Simpson Addresses Wardrobe Mishap: ‘My B—s Stayed In’

Jessica Simpson’s appearance on the Today show took an unfortunate turn, as the singer experienced a wardrobe mishap mid-performance. Rather than letting it affect her, Simpson quickly adjusted her clothes and continued. She laughed off the incident during her post-show interview with the Today hosts.

Here are more details about Simpson’s wardrobe mishap and her reaction.

Jessica Simpson powers through wardrobe mishap during Today show performance

Jessica Simpson made a memorable return to live television music on July 23 with her first Today show performance in 15 years. However, while singing a medley of her early 2000s hits, the singer encountered a wardrobe malfunction onstage.

Dressed in a strapless cream corset dress topped with a glittery fringe jacket, Simpson’s top shifted on one side, revealing pink bra padding beneath. Staying composed, she adjusted her outfit mid-performance and later addressed the moment.

“Of course I had a malfunction here and everywhere,” Simpson joked to the Today show anchors afterward. The singer kept things lighthearted and said, “But it’s OK. I think my b**bs stayed in, so it’s OK.”

Simpson’s performance was part of the Citi Concert Series and marked her return to live singing after more than a decade. Her last musical release was a holiday album in 2010. Now, she’s back with Nashville Canyon: Part 1, the first installment of a two-part EP.

Ahead of her appearance, Simpson spoke candidly about her mindset, explaining how she worked to overcome nerves. “Today it was like, ‘Okay, get out of your head. Get out of your head. Who cares if your shoe falls off? Who cares if you forget a lyric?’” she said during Today With Jenna & Friends. She added, “Honestly, it’s just about being able to be up there and be vulnerable, and that feels really beautiful.”
