Chris Paul Rejoins LA Clippers for His Final NBA Season

With retirement rumors circling the recent years of his illustrious career, NBA icon Chris Paul has decided to once again join forces with the LA Clippers for the 2025-26 season. The veteran point guard, who has featured for as many as seven different teams ever since he made his professional debut in 2005, has reportedly agreed to a one-year contract with the Clippers.

Chris Paul has officially joined forces with the LA Clippers for the second time in his career and will call the Intuit Dome home for the NBA 2025-26 season.

An official statement from Clippers team president Lawrence Frank read, “Chris is one of the most impactful players ever to wear a Clippers uniform, and it’s appropriate that he returns to the team for this chapter of his career. Chris will help fortify our backcourt with his exceptional ball-handling, playmaking, and shooting. He is joining us as a reserve point guard and is excited to fill whatever role T Lue asks him to play.”

The one-year deal is set to be worth $3.6 million. The move comes after Chris Paul suggested that the 2025-26 season could be his final campaign in the NBA. Speaking his mind at the recently conducted American Black Film Festival, Paul gave a rough estimate regarding his retirement, stating, “At the most, a year. I just finished my 20th season, which is a blessing in itself. I have been in the NBA for more than half of my life, which is a blessing. But these years, you do not get back with your kids, with your family.” (via Mint)

The Clippers have made major moves this offseason. They signed another veteran point guard, Bradley Beal, after he agreed to a buyout with the Phoenix Suns. The team has also acquired John Collins and Brook Lopez, adding more size to their roster.
