Chiefs’ Rashee Rice to Attend Training Camp Amid Jail Sentence

The Kansas City Chiefs have officially started with their training camp ahead of the NFL 2025-26 season, with wide receiver Rashee Rice joining his side’s practice sessions despite his jail sentence. The 25-year-old football star recently pleaded guilty to two felony charges, causing many to conclude that it would end up hindering his future with the Chiefs. However, latest reports confirm that despite his legal troubles, Rice will actively participate in the Chiefs’ training camp.

On July 20, Kansas City head coach Andy Reid confirmed that even though Rashee Rice is currently facing a 30-day jail sentence, he will take part in the Chiefs’ preseason activities.

While speaking with reporters, the veteran NFL tactician stated, “We’re going to progress as normal with him. He’ll go in and take all the reps that he’ll normally take.” He then added, “We always rotate that position. Depending on what happens here with the future, whoever needs to play will step in and know what they are doing and be in good shape to do it.” (via AOL)

Rashee Rice was levied a 30-day jail sentence, which also includes five years’ probation, by the Dallas County District Attorney’s office on July 17 after he pleaded guilty to two third-degree felony charges. The charges, which consist of a collision involving serious bodily injury and racing on a highway causing bodily injury, date back to a May 2024 incident that saw the 2023 Super Bowl winner inflict a multi-car crash in Dallas while driving his Lamborghini SUV at a whopping 119 miles per hour. Rice has since issued a public apology for his actions and has also paid $115,000 in restitution to the victims of the accident.

Rice has the option to serve his jail sentence at any given point in his five-year probation period. While he has received deferred adjudication from the courts, NFL authorities have yet to decide whether they will impose a suspension on the up-and-coming wide receiver.
