South Korean actress Lee Seo-yi has passed away at the age of 43. This news has left her fans heartbroken. Lee Seo-yi’s manager announced her death in a statement on social media. The actress gained popularity through her performances in projects like Killing Romance, Scarlet Innocence, and The King. Most recently, she appeared in the rom-com drama The Divorce Insurance.
Lee Seo-yi’s cause of death explained
In a recent post made on Lee Seo-yi’s Instagram account, her manager announced her death at the age of 43. As per the statement, Seo-yi passed away on June 20, 2025.
The manager shared a photo of the actress and wrote, “This is Actor Lee Seo-bin’s manager Song. Brilliant, beautiful, pretty and nice sis. On June 20, 2017, she became a star in the sky. Everyone will be shocked and heartbroken by the deceased’s obituary, but please pray that my sister can go to a good place. I post this on behalf of her mother and father.” (translation by Soompi)
Additionally, according to a report by Chosun Biz, Seo-yi’s manager spoke to OSEN regarding the actress’s death. He said, “My sister was bright and loved acting so much. She was a beloved sister who was grateful and happy to act, even in small roles.” He also looked back at the time when Seo-yi was shooting for The Divorce Insurance last year and noted, “I couldn’t be with her on the set of ‘The Divorce Insurance.’ However, we stayed in touch, and she was very excited to be going to the set at that time.”
Seo-yi’s manager asserted that he wanted the actress to be “remembered beautifully.” He further added, “The sister I knew always had courage and perseverance. In everything entrusted to my sister, she worked harder than anyone else, even in small roles, and lived with gratitude.”
