Ronnie Coleman Hospitalised With ‘Serious Medical Condition’

Bodybuilding legend Ronnie Coleman has been hospitalized with a serious medical condition, his family announced. The 61-year-old Mr. Olympia champion canceled a UK event due to a medical emergency. However, he assured fans that he’s receiving expert care.

Why was Ronnie Coleman hospitalised?

The “strongest Mr. Olympia of all time,” Ronnie Coleman, is showing “incredible strength and resilience” amid hospitalization. The official Facebook page of Coleman shared an update regarding his current health condition.

The statement noted that Coleman had to be admitted to a hospital on Sunday, June 29, due to a “serious medical condition.” The Coleman family did not reveal any specific details regarding the bodybuilder’s illness.

The family members said, “At this time, we are not sharing additional details, as the focus remains on Ronnie’s recovery and well-being. We kindly ask for your understanding and support in keeping the environment respectful and free of speculation.”

Additionally, the family urged fans to rely only on information coming from official sources. They concluded the note by praising Coleman’s impact on his fans. “Ronnie has always inspired the world with his toughness and heart, and we know he feels the love and energy being sent his way.”

On a separate note, Coleman addressed his fans directly via Instagram. In an IG story update, the Mr. Olympia record-holder stated, “I hate to break it to y’all, but I won’t be able to make it out to the UK this week like I planned. Unfortunately, I had a medical emergency and had to stick around here in the U.S. for treatment.”

He added, “But don’t worry… I’m in great hands, getting the best care, and I’m staying strong through it all. I’ll be back and better than ever, and I can’t wait to get out there and see you all real soon!”

Doctors previously hospitalized Coleman several times for surgeries. He underwent his sixth major surgery in February 2016. The extensive 11-hour back operation left him unable to walk and confined to a wheelchair for a while.

The eight-time Mr. Olympia has endured multiple surgeries since 2007, including hip replacements and spinal fusions. (via Straight Talking Fitness).
