Actress Mariska Hargitay spoke about her experience of working with pop megastar Taylor Swift on the music video for one of the latter’s songs. Notably, Hargitay is best known for portraying Olivia Benson on NBC’s Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and associated projects.
Here’s what Mariska Hargitay said about Taylor Swift
Hargitay recently made an appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast and reflected on how it was working with Swift on the music video for the song “Bad Blood.” “It was so fun. It’s the best music video,” the actress recalled, adding that it “was the most fun, being in the squad with all the cool girls and supermodels. It was the most fun ever.”
“Bad Blood” originally came out in 2014 as part of Swift’s studio album, 1989. A remix version of the song, featuring Kendrick Lamar, debuted in 2015, as did its music video. The latter had guest appearances by the likes of Lena Dunham, Selena Gomez, Gigi Hadid, Hailee Steinfeld, Zendaya, Karlie Kloss, Ellen Pompeo, and Hayley Williams.
In the above-mentioned interview, Hargitay spoke about the impression she had of Swift. “She was just warm and smart and kind and such a boss lady,” she said. “I learned so much from her. That’s what I love about her is [that] she’s so young, but she shows us in such beautiful ways how to be fearless and a boss lady,” Hargitay continued.
She also expressed interest in appearing in another Taylor Swift music video, saying, “If Tay Tay asked me.” “I’m hoping I’m standing by for Taylor. I only do Taylor Swift videos now,” she added.
Although the song itself received mixed responses from critics, the music video garnered widespread acclaim. It received several accolades, including the Best Music Video award at the 58th Annual Grammy Awards and the MTV Video Music Awards for Video of the Year.
