Fat Joe gets sued by former hypeman for $20 million for sexual misconduct
Terrance “T.A.” Dixon, who spent 16 years working as Fat Joe’s hypeman, is suing the rapper. In the federal lawsuit, he has accused the rapper of deeply disturbing behavior and exploitation. The lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, outlines serious allegations. These include coercive labor practices, financial deception, sexual coercion, threats, and psychological abuse.
Dixon accuses Fat Joe of building his wealth and fame by suppressing Dixon’s contributions and subjecting him to coercive and abusive treatment. According to the suit, Dixon claims he played a major creative role behind the scenes, providing lyrics and background vocals on songs like “Ice Cream,” “Congratulations,” and “Money Over B**ches.” Despite this, Dixon alleges he was deliberately denied credit and fair compensation.
One of the most serious claims in the filing is that Dixon personally witnessed Fat Joe having sexual relationships with underage girls, including three Jane Does. One of them was a 16-year-old Dominican girl who allegedly performed sex acts in exchange for clothing, money, and phone payments.
Furthermore, the complaint claims that Dixon was coerced into performing over 4,000 sexual acts under threats and duress, often while being monitored. Dixon says he was threatened with abandonment in foreign countries if he refused to comply.
Beyond Fat Joe, the lawsuit also names his longtime associates Pete “Pistol Pete” Torres and Richard “Rich Player” Jospitre as defendants. The lawsuit additionally targets Roc Nation, the entertainment company run by Jay-Z, which represents Fat Joe. According to Dixon, Roc Nation played a role in helping hide and manipulate his creative contributions.
Fat Joe’s legal team has strongly denied all the allegations. Joe Tacopina, the rapper’s attorney, called the suit an act of retaliation.
