Bhad Bhabie sued by Amex, here’s why
American Express has reportedly filed a $674,452.40 lawsuit against Bhad Bhabie for allegedly not paying her credit card dues in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Wednesday, July 2. As per the documents that the bank filed, “Plaintiff extended credit to Defendant for purchases and/or cash advances by Defendants and/or persons acting with Defendants’ permission on the American Express account XXXX‑XXXX‑X5000 (the “Account”).”
It further states, “Defendant promised to repay Plaintiff for all charges, fees, and interest on the Account by paying the balance in full every month or by making monthly payments” (via PEOPLE).
American Express also claims that they consented to extending credit to the rapper on April 21, 2021, but Bhad Bhabie hasn’t made any payment since late December 2024. Bhad Bhabie has denied the allegations. She told The Shade Room, “S— not true. Where do they get this s— from?”
The rapper first became popular after her Dr. Phil appearance in 2016, during which she used the phrase “Catch me outside, how ’bout that?” The said phrase went viral and turned her into an internet celebrity. In 2017, she released her first single, “These Heaux,” which received a Gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
Her next single, “Hi Bich,” was an even bigger hit and garnered a Platinum certification from the RIAA. She has collaborated with the likes of Lil Yachty (Gucci Flip Flops), Ty Dolla Sign (Trust Me), and Tory Lanez (Babyface Savage).
