Lindsay Lohan has had a tough time dealing with the media spotlight throughout her career. So much so that the 38-year-old actress decided to start a new chapter in her life in 2014 by leaving Los Angeles and relocating to Dubai. In a recent interview, Lindsay Lohan opened up about her surprise shift to Dubai, where she now lives with her one-year-old son, Luai, and husband, Bader Shammas.
Lindsay Lohan reveals why she moved to Dubai
Lindsay Lohan will be making an appearance on the cover of Elle’s 2025 Summer Issue and was asked by the magazine about her life in Dubai compared to New York and LA, and what she values most. She also elaborated on how certain aspects of her life in the United Arab Emirates compare to living in LA. She stated, “It’s hard in LA. Even taking my son to the park in LA, I get stressed. I’m like, ‘Are there cameras?’ In New York, there’s no worry; no one bothers us. Everyone has their own thing going on. There’s a different kind of energy in New York. I’d rather have downtime in New York than I would in LA.”
She added, “The nice thing about LA is, I like space [and you get that here].” Lindsay Lohan then noted how she experiences these things in Dubai as well, remarking, “But I’m thinking as I’m saying this, the funny thing is, in Dubai I get all of those things. I get the privacy, I get the peace, I get the space, I don’t have to worry there. I feel safe.”
Lohan also spoke about the significance of her family maintaining a routine in their life in Dubai, stating, “It’s the most important thing: my husband, my son, and me. It’s all about balance and, as I said, routine. Especially when you have a kid, routine is the most important thing. And whatever their routine is, I’ve got to live by that.”
Lohan is now gearing up for her next theatrical outing, Freakier Friday, which will serve as the sequel to 2003’s beloved fantasy comedy, Freaky Friday.
