In an unfortunate turn of events, the Scottsdale Police Department has confirmed the death of popular hiking influencer, Hannah Moody. She was reportedly 31 years old. The social media personality, who documented her trekking expeditions for the internet while working at restaurants for a living, was found dead near the Gateway Trailhead of the McDowell Sonoran Preserve in Scottsdale.

Hannah Moody cause of death explained
On May 22, Scottsdale authorities issued an official press release to announce Hannah Moody’s death, having located her lifeless body near the aforementioned Arizona hiking trail. Encapsulating what had happened, the statement, shared by the officials on Facebook, read, “Hannah was first reported missing around 7:50 p.m. on May 21 by concerned friends who had not heard from her. Scottsdale officers responded to the trailhead where she was last seen and located her vehicle still in the parking lot. Efforts to reach her by phone or ping her cellphone were unsuccessful. Officers began search efforts on foot, with drones and assistance from a Phoenix Police Department helicopter.”
The search operation went on for over four hours before the Scottsdale personnel put a halt to the efforts for the day. However, they resumed their pursuit to locate the 31-year-old the next day by deploying as many as 20 officers, with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office search and rescue team and air unit providing drone assistance.
They soon became aware of Hannah Moody’s death, with the search party discovering “Hannah’s body around 12:05 p.m., about 600 yards off-trail.” While the Scottsdale detectives will be conducting a thorough investigation to uncover the truth behind Moody’s passing, the authorities have not found any “obvious signs of foul play or trauma at this point.”
Prior to her unexpected death, Hannah Moody had noted that she had recently switched jobs and was now working in the day shift. Despite stressing over the transition in the initial stages, Moody noted a change in perspective in her last Instagram video, where she thanked God for allowing her to go on sunset hikes.
