‘American Music Awards 2025 Voting’ Trends Amid Taylor Swift Snub

Following incorrect speculations that suggested Taylor Swift would announce the release of Reputation (Taylor’s Version) at the 2025 American Music Awards, many fans have become curious about the voting system of the recently concluded event. Notably, the 14-time Grammy winner secured six nominations at this year’s AMAs but did not win in any category.

Fans were highly anticipating Taylor Swift to confirm the premiere of the reprised version of her 2016 album, Reputation, at the 2025 AMAs. However, they were met with disappointment on two fronts, as the pop sensation not only skipped the award ceremony altogether, and made no announcements regarding her upcoming album, but also failed to win any award.

As such, Swifties have started to enquire about the voting procedure for the 2025 American Music Awards. While there is nothing that fans can do as of now, with the AMAs concluding its proceedings on May 26, internet users did have the option to vote for their favorite artists in their nominated categories.

As reported by Billboard, the AMAs were a fan-voted event, with interested users having the option to cast their votes by hopping onto VoteAMAs.com. The second method of voting occurred at the official Instagram handle of the 2025 American Music Awards. In the profile, fans could have cast their votes by clicking a pinned “VOTE HERE” post and submitting one of the promoted hashtags in the comment section as listed on the show’s website. Every artist nominated for a category had a unique hashtag, which meant that singers with several nods had a separate hashtag for each of their nominated categories. Additionally, in order to be eligible for voting at the 2025 American Music Awards, users had to have a public profile.

Aside from the Collaboration of the Year and Social Song of the Year categories on the website voting front, all voting lines across all mediums closed on May 15 at 11:59 PM PT. While Taylor Swift missed out on adding to her record 40 AMAs wins, Billie Eilish ended up stealing the limelight, winning all seven categories in which she received nominations.
