Skai Jackson, 23, has filed a restraining order against her son’s father, Deondre Burgin, alleging multiple instances of domestic violence. The Disney Channel alum submitted the request to L.A. County Superior Court, according to documents obtained by PEOPLE and first reported by TMZ.
In her statement, Jackson alleged that Burgin assaulted her on Mother’s Day while she was holding their newborn son, Kasai. She claimed he grabbed her hair, smashed her head into a window of a car, and delivered a punch to her face. PEOPLE has attempted to contact Burgin for comment.
Jackson further claimed that the alleged abuse spanned six months, during which she said she was physically assaulted on a weekly basis. She accused Burgin of choking her, scratching her, and slamming her head into walls. The documents also describe incidents of property damage, including a broken iPhone and television.
She alleged that during her pregnancy, Burgin used a knife to threaten her and demanded she drink bleach to terminate the pregnancy. Jackson also detailed an incident where she locked herself in a bathroom. She claimed Burgin then punched through the door, slammed her into a wall, and “choked [her] until [she] could not breathe.” She said she has video evidence of this event.
A source revealed to PEOPLE that the restraining order was requested “as a necessary measure to protect her and her child from continued harassment and threats.” The source added, “The safety and well-being of her family is the top priority.”
Jackson and Burgin welcomed their son, Kasai, in January 2025. She shared the announcement on Instagram on January 26 with a photo of her holding the baby’s hands, captioned “Kasai.”
