Steve Doocy Is Not Leaving Fox News – Changes Explained

Fox News viewers recently raised concerns about whether Steve Doocy is leaving the network following his frequent absence from the morning show. However, the popular host put everyone at ease when he shared what was really going on. Although Fox News won’t bid farewell to Doocy anytime soon, there will be some major changes in his schedule.

Here’s everything we know.

What’s the latest on Steve Doocy leaving Fox News?

No, Steve Doocy is not leaving Fox News for good.

On the May 1 broadcast of the show, Doocy set the record straight, announcing that he will just be taking some time off as host of “Fox & Friends.” Much to the relief of the show’s fans, he confirmed that he is not leaving Fox News anytime soon. Doocy began by jokingly admitting that the work schedule as a host is absurdly hectic. He then proceeded to declare that he is joining Fox News’ morning political commentary show and will now be based in Florida.

“After decades of getting up at 3:30 and driving into New York City in the dark, today is the last day I will host the show from the couch,” announced Doocy. He then confirmed, “I’m not retiring, I’m not leaving the show. I’m still a host, but it’s time for a change.”

“I will be based in Florida, which means you may never see me in a necktie again,” joked Doocy. He jokingly referred to himself as “the coast-to-coast host” now that he’ll be reporting from Florida. This would allow him to cover news from “other parts of America that don’t get a lot of network airtime.” He continued, “I’ll be going from the Carolinas to the Keys, from Middle America to Mar-a-Lago.”

“I will continue to join the couch crew for commentary. You’ve trusted me for all these years, and don’t worry, you will still hear my voice and my opinions loud and clear, despite whatever seasonal pollen is killing me,” Doocy reassured his viewers.

Doocy has been a celebrated part of the “Fox & Friends” couch for almost three decades. Although he was emotional to bid adieu to the show, Doocy shared that he was really excited to spend more time with his family and loved ones.
