Popular Twitch streamer Kai Cenat confirmed during a recent livestream that he declined an invitation to the 2025 Met Gala.

“I had an opportunity to go to the Met Gala, chat,” he told his viewers. “But, I didn’t go because I’m not gonna lie, the brand that wanted to host me… I didn’t really, like, wanna do that brand.”

Although the specific brand that extended the offer was not named, Cenat made it clear that the partnership didn’t align with his preferences. The 2025 Met Gala was themed “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” and sponsored by Louis Vuitton, with Pharrell Williams, Anna Wintour, A$AP Rocky, Lewis Hamilton, and Colman Domingo serving as co-chairs. Wintour retains final control over the guest list.

Despite turning down the formal event, Cenat did attend the Met Gala 2025 afterparty. On May 6, 2025, he live-streamed from the afterparty and interacted with several high-profile celebrities including Pharrell Williams, Future, Jaden Smith, Daniel Kaluuya, Keke Palmer, Caleb McLaughlin, Kim Kardashian, and La La Anthony.

Clips from his stream circulated online, including a segment where he greeted Pharrell, referring to him as his “broski.” He also showcased his Louis Vuitton outfit before the event and asked his chat, “What do y’all think, chat? Look at the back-top, you know. It’s Louis! Not too bad, right?”

Fans reacted to the event across X, with posts like “Kai really streaming his way into elite circles now” and “W Motion.” Cenat’s afterparty appearance followed recent headlines where Kanye West suggested the Twitch streamer took inspiration from his work for a viral 2023 prison stream.
